Seminar : Understanding Artificial Intelligence
This introductory module to Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers a comprehensive and accessible overview of the fundamental principles, applications and technologies that make up the field of AI.
Through a series of structured lessons, interactive demonstrations and group discussions, you’ll explore the historical evolution of AI, discover the differences between artificial intelligence, machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL), and understand how these technologies are transforming our daily lives and the professional landscape.
This course is organized by HEC Liège Executive Education and the Digital Lab.

Aswhin Ittoo
Professor of Information Systems // HEC Liège-ULiège
Prof. Dr. Ashwin Ittoo specializes in machine/deep learning, with a particular focus on language processing. Much of his work is/was with public and private organizations, including the European Commission, consulting and expertise companies, and those in the financial/insurance sector. He is a professor at HEC Liège, ULiège’s business school, and is a regular visiting professor at institutions in Japan, India, Vietnam and the Netherlands. His current research focuses on reducing the size of large language models, with a significant impact on reducing carbon footprints. He also provides AI compliance consulting services.
